When I first got divorced from my ex-husband I found out that the only way I could keep health insurance was to pay for the COBRA they offered. The price of the COBRA was prohibitive. At that time the only chronic illness I had was Type 1 Diabetes. I desperately searched for a medical plan that would cover me.
