Right now in Missouri we are building a movement of staff RNs to gain a stronger voice in our hospitals, protect our RN profession, and win strong pro-patient and RN legislation.   Join us to help end mandatory overtime, unsafe staffing, unsafe floating and other unsafe hospital practices.  Its easy. Educate yourself, share with your co-workers, and take action to improve conditions for patients and RNs.

Missouri Counts down to Safe Staffing
RNs Build Campaign for RN – to – Patient Ratio Bill

Members of the National Nurses Organizing Committee of Greater St Louis set a goal to introduce a RN-to-patient ratio bill and other RN and patient protections in the 2009 legislative session. It is time for Missouri RNs and patients to have the same safe staffing ratios that nurses and patients in California already won, and that other states are on their way to achieving.  Illinois, Ohio, Arizona, Texas and Maine introduced ratios or ratios with other patient protections this legislative year.

Here what RNs can do to help win safe staffing ratios in Missouri and all over the US

  • Attend Regional Committee meetings with nurses from all over St Louis
  • Talk to your own legislator
  • Join a group of RNs to talk to a local legislators
  • Host a house-party with co-workers and invite local organizer to educate RNs on ratios
  • Collect a petition
  • Form a group of Pro-ratio RNs in your facility
